About Us
Meet the Ivy Prep Early Learning Academy Family
Our Philosophy
Here at Ivy Prep Early Learning Academy, we take pride in our childcare curriculums, instructors, locations, and programs! Each of the age-appropriate programs has been designed and developed with the intention to help young children receive the care they need while simultaneously establishing a love and need for learning. We are certain that your child will be given both the compassionate care and early learning methods he/she needs at any of our outstanding locations!
About Us
Ivy Prep Early Learning Academy considers itself to be a “Grow with Me” school which means each classroom from infancy to preschool builds on the next classroom to streamline a safe, secure, familiar learning experience for each child. Every classroom utilizes The Creative Curriculum and helps children transition by taking the current skills they have and building on that to be more successful academically, and socially-emotionally.
We have built our program around the understanding that each child is unique and that we cater to the individuals, not just to groups of children. Our curriculum will constantly be evolving, as time passes our students will have the exposure to lessons that are relevant to what is going on in our community, nation, and the world.
The Creative Curriculum is an early childhood curriculum that uses creative teaching strategies to help teachers engage with children and promote early learning and development. It's designed to help children develop social skills, learn through play, and build strong connections with their families. The curriculum is research-based and includes progressions for development and learning that span the early childhood years. These progressions allow teachers to observe and
document children's development and plan future experiences based on each child's abilities. The classrooms are also arranged so children can easily access them independently, such as low shelves, containers, and hooks. Ivy Prep Early Learning Academy acknowledges the individual differences of each child and understands how important it is, as educators, to build trusting relationships and make each child feel comfortable in our care. Children have different temperaments, prior experiences, and life circumstances and at Ivy Prep Early Learning Academy it is important to consider the whole child and appreciate the unique ways they interact with others and the rest of the world.
Our whole-child approach delivers academic rigor alongside social–emotional development, cognitive development, and meaningful interactions—inside the classroom while also providing resources for home. Distinct age-targeted curriculum solutions focused exclusively on the development of infants, toddlers, twos, 3K and PRE-K.
We place an equal amount of importance on keeping our center family-oriented. In doing so, we create bonds with children and parents that last long after they leave our program. Creating these bonds allows us to give each child the tools they need to be successful.
Our Mission

Health & Safety
At Ivy Prep Early Learning Academy, we follow early childhood health and safety resources and guidelines from the Department of Mental Health and Hygiene. Here are some key points:
- Childcare Regulations: The Dept. of Health has regulations in place to ensure the health and safety of children in childcare settings. This includes requirements for staff-to-child ratios, health and safety standards for facilities, and staff training.
- Immunizations: Ensuring that children are up to date on their immunizations is crucial for protecting them from preventable diseases. NYC has specific requirements for the vaccines that children must receive to attend childcare or school.
- Safe Sleep Practices: It's essential to follow safe sleep guidelines to reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). This includes placing babies on their backs to sleep and keeping cribs free of blankets, pillows, and toys.
- Nutrition and Physical Activity: Promoting healthy eating habits and regular physical activity is important for the overall well-being of young children. Childcare providers can play a key role in providing nutritious meals and snacks and encouraging active play.
- Emergency Preparedness: Childcare facilities should have plans in place for emergencies such as fires, severe weather, or medical incidents. Staff should be trained on how to respond to emergencies and ensure the safety of the children in their care.
Our Teachers
Ivy Prep Early Learning Academy’s Teachers, Administration, and Non-educational school personnel meet all the credentials, have the required up to date list of training complete, and the necessary experience mandated by the NYC Department of Health’s Article 47’s Policies and Procedures. All staff members are fingerprinted by the Department of Investigation and the Department of Education (for 3K/PRE-K Staff), and have approval letters from the NYC Child Care Comprehensive Background Check Program.
Ivy Prep Early Learning Academy equips their teachers with flexible professional development in a variety of formats including but not limited to, hands-on “in the moment” modeling/training, large and small group lectures, individualized teacher training, modified environmental training for classrooms, peer leadership collaboration, observations, tangible resources, and a variety of digital, editable educational content pertaining to early childhood education. Educational Directors provide their teachers with guidance, support, and encouragement for effective implementation, so they can feel confident creating joyful learning experiences for every child.
Communications
Communication between our school and the families enrolled has always been a priority of ours, in order to keep in touch, we utilize mobile technology to provide updates between our school and parents. The mobile solution is built to provide a first-hand look at activities, important information, critical notifications, special memories, and documentation for the teaching team.
This system allows teachers to capture special moments, take photos, and videos of the children in action as well as send you classroom information. Your child’s daily information is captured at the moment it occurs, and your grams are sent directly to your e-mail, once your child is checked out for the day. All information is saved to your child’s online portfolio, so you have a complete, detailed history of everything to do with your child.
